Part 2: Oh lordy. My Tenant Needs To Leave – Help for Landlords

Landlord Tenant PicturesAs a landlord, you are entitled to protecting yourself under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)  in numerous cases including non-payment of rent and if the tenant has changed the locks of your home.  As a landlord you may terminate a tenancy, evict a tenant on multiple grounds and increase/decrease rent. However, it is essential to follow the correct procedure otherwise the application may become void.

Every situation is unique and a paralegal can help you navigate through the confusion of filling out the application, filing the application and can even represent you before the tribunal.  Below are a number of applications available for landlords under the RTA. Need more information? Still have questions? Leave a comment so I can clarify any questions you may have.

  1. You always hear about tenants having issues with their landlords. I’ve experienced lots of issues like this- but I forget that the landlord also can be in situations where they are having a hard time with tenants and don’t know how to act. Thanks for the great info!
